Difference in crash bars?
I have a 2002 Low Rider and I bought a crash bar off of a guy who had a 2007 Street Bob. The bar for that year says it fits with mid or forward controls.
I put it on the bike and it fits...my feet are a little close to the bar though.
Now I wanted a 93-05 Wide Glide bar but this one came up for $75 and I jumped on it because it looks brand new.
Is there a difference between a 93-05 Wide Glide bar and a 2006 and newer bar other than the 06's and up use the same bar?

Not sure about the frame difference from 93 up. I use a lot of 93 up parts on my 04 and they fit fine. MoCo seems lazy / too cheep to retool for newer stuff
But they all mount to the same place on mid-control bikes - the forward peg mounts and where the frame goes into the double downtubes - where the metal plate has a hole.
I can't believe the crash bars are closer to the rider if they mount at the top of the frame and are straight across. The bars would have to bend back for your feet to be closer - yes??
The fitment on my 300 dollar Lindby crash bars sucked, so I cut the peg mounts off and fabbed / welded new ones.
I'd go to the local HD Dealer with a pad of paper and tape measure (and digital camera) and see what's the problem.
My Dealer is 5 miles from home so I do that a lot...
Good luck dd
