Brand new member here. I have a bit of a story to tell, so please bare with me.
I just bought a brand new 2008 Fatboy. I also ordered the Lighted Mirror Kit (PN 92059-07) as you did... Along with $11,000.00 worth of other replacement parts (it will be awesome when it's done).
Anyway, due to the large amount of parts I ordered with the bike, the dealer told me my bike would be ready in about a week. That's all fine. However, I dropped by the dealership today after work to check on the progress, and I was surprised to see that they had installed my lighted mirrors, but left the original turn signals on as well. When I questioned the mechanic about it, he said I have to keep the original turn signals on or the lighted mirrors won't work.
For me, the whole idea of purchasing the lighted mirrors was so I could get rid of the original turn signals. He even showed me the installation instructions, and sure enough, on the third paragraph it states that the kit is not intended to replace the original turn signals... Mirror turn signals will not function properly without the stock turn signals installed.
Now.... I noticed in your photos that your original turn signals are nowhere to be seen. How did you do that? Is there some kind of magic wiring trick I need to know? Perhaps I need a load balance? Or is HD bullshitting me?
I need to get rid of the stock turn signals... I hate them.
