So looking at the catalog the 5 3/4 is priced at $329.95 and $ 41.95 for mounting system. Alot of cash even with 20% off.... The stock headlight is to small... Any opinions? Thanks
There are other options out there for less $. Do a search on the site and you will find that several members have opted for less expensive systems from other manufacturers. All that have done so have been very happy with their decision.
As far as the stock light being too small, I'd have to agree with you. The 5 3/4 looks much better:
Definitely look around. I got mine off eBay for $99 shipped. A guy bought it and couldn't figure out how to mount it on his bike. I guess he wasn't aware of all of the mounting block options. His ignorance was my gain. The quality is just as high as any I have seen.
Yes HD is quite spendy and there are other companys out there to get the bullet headlamp,..............but I do remeber reading a thread about Arlen Ness (which I thought was a good product) That had there AC brackets breaking. So this is a question as much as a stament when I say If you or any one out there has bought any 5.75 headlamps that they feel are comparable to the quality of the HD product.........'cause I would love to have the light too, just don't want to spend 350 bucks. Nor do I want to spend 100 bucks for friggin unreturnable JUNK..............imho
ps the questions that need to be asked are.......
1) does it rattle
2) is it metal
3) is of weight(ie: bicycle weight or motorcycle weight)
4) is the inside chromed? or is gonna start leaking liquid rust all over my bike
I am sure there are more..............
Yes. If i remember correctly, the stock mounting bolt had to be used, but was too long for use with the new mounting block. I cut the bolt and it worked find.

+1 Viper 5-3/4" from Eastern Performance. $95.00 shipped and I ordered an angled mounting bracket. I also ordered a chrome button head bolt to clean up the install.
