Hello all,

Looking for ideas on how to fix a new Harley chrome/flamed hand grip i dropped and broke.

Part of the plastic that holds one of the throttle cable brass barrel things in snapped off. I glued it a day ago with an elmer "super-do-all " type glue, but it just broke off again when i was putting it on. I also lost the piece of plastic too.

I'm thinking oftrying to get the inner sleeve off the new grip and putting the oldthrottle sleeveon after peeling the old grip away (most of its worn off anyways).

I'd really hate to spendthe going price of $70-80 for a new set -this was the last thing to do on my new handlebars/internal wires/all chrome controls project -unbelievable %$*&.

 

Ouch! Try to swap sleeves. I would had to have a glue fix fail and then have the fragment hold your throttle open.

 

buy new. not worth the hassle of it breaking again.

you could try some plastic epoxicy.stuff is very strong

 

take it back to dealer tell em it was broke when you got it lol

 

That would be a good honest move!
Sure whould hate to do business with someone like that.[:'(]

 

Take to your dealer, show them and tell em just how broke you are (probably be true). They may replace it for you, if it's brand new.

Most dealers want to keep you happy, so you will spend more, later.

Just a taste of there own medicine when theres known issues with certain bikes and they tell you your the only one with them probs.

 

HD can afford the 'hit' better than 06dyna can...
