1157 is the bulb type. It is a two element bulb. Inside it will have two separate elements and the bottom will have two gray contacts. This the bulb for the front turn signals. The rear bulb is an 1156 and is a single element bulb with only one gray contact on the bottom. This the bulb for the rear turn signals. These bulbs have round bases. Good luck.
