06 bob questions
if i want a stage one, does the dealer have to install to keep the warranty?
can i use aftermarket parts or do the have to be SE? thinking big radius pipes and kuryakin(sp) charger
anyone put drag bars on a bob? would let cables off a dyna low fit?
thanks
love reading all the info on this site. i haven't made alot of posts but i sure have learned alot.
So you decided to get the bobber rather than the nightie, good choice. I left most things to the dealer as I wasn't too sure how I would get on in terms of warranty. So apart from a few minor changes, mine looks close to original - the bobber looks sold me on it, so why change?
Got mine still stock. O2 sensors, mufs, A/C.
One nice thing is it never sneezes, coughs or what ever like stock carbed ones will. From 20 to 90 degrees it has never failed to start or run right. (Do let it warm up abit when it is down in temps.)
If you are after sound, cycle shack slipons from the 05's will do as I have read. They are the same as SE but about $100 less cost and do not say HD on em.
The Dynas I feel are an experiment this year and next year all the other models will have the O2 thingys. Then they will not have to run the cats to comply with the EPA BS.
If this is the case, the aftermarket folks will be jummping to meet the demand for remaps and other things for the EFI with O2 sensors.
I am waiting to do the mufs, A/C and such till more development is done. It currently runs GREAT!
Have changed the tail light set-up to relocated turns, LED lights including tail light and turns. These all flash fast when brakes are hit and draws attention to em.
Have made it an "Ol mans" bike acording to the kid. With bags, windshield, floorboards, even rear seat for boss, and sissy bar with a BIG pad for it.

I have the SE Slash Downs on my Bob w/ the stock A/C and it runs great. The Bob is getting picked up on Tuesday for the trans recall, and they are going to do the Stage 1 A/C and the HD Download then. I will have to let you know how it's running when I get it back. As for the drag bars, check the posts in the Dyna Threads I'm pretty sure someone has done that already, and they discuss the cable lengths as well.
Man, I'm getting green over here. My ONE gripe was the solo seat so I was thinking about a pillion and sissy bar, but not sure about what it would do to the aesthetics. Your pic makes a believer out of me. Niiiiiice looking ride. Is that the black denim?
