Default Oil dipstick

This is my 1st Harley so guess that makes me a newbe..I have an 07 wideglide. Looking for a oil dip stick with temp gauge... prefure analog model..don't want to pay 70.00 more forLED. Dealer said don't make one for 07 model yet with 6-speed tranny? Anyone know of one? 2nd do I really need it? I heared they run alittle hot. I bought bike just before winter so I only have about 500 miles under my belt. Will be going on a trip this June from IN to Minn.. thanks for any info or help

Sorry, but after I saw your bike, I had to post - don't have an answer for your dipstick question, but your bike is outfitted exactly as mine was when I bought it a couple of years ago: Lindby Linbar engine guard and V&H Big Radius. My point for saying this is: is the engine guard preventing you from putting your right foot on the footpeg? Mine was and the bar came off as soon as I got home from the dealer and went on ebay. Kind of a safety hazard...other than that, I liked the look of the bar and it was very good quality. I believe mine was just the wrong bar for the bike.

Hope you find an answer to your dipstick question...!

No, I don't have that problem with the bars. Did you order the 1 for foward contols? I orded mine from real hog. The one they had on the sitewasn't for foward controls (I thought all wideglide had foward controls?) I called and a very helpfull woman told me they didn't list the part # online for the bars to fit with foward controls but they had em...

I haven't seen an analog oil temp gauge (dipstick style) for the late model dynas yet - the digital is way too pricey IMO. And yes, they do run hot in stock trim. I see you've had some pipes and other mods - does it have a PCIII installed? If so, that takes care of the factory lean settings for the EFI and helps enormously with the heat.

yes, I do have PCIII ...just wondering as well does anyone run a oil cooler? If not do you need to take longer breaks than just getting gas to let bike cool down on long rides. especialy on hot day? thanks guys (gals)

My bike was used and the bar came with it - whoever put it on didn't order the right one. I was just curious. Yes, all Wide Glides only have fwd controls. Nice ride, by the way!
