I have a friend that was a 2005 Dyna Low Rider that I dowork on forhim. He wants to put an oil cooler on it. Has anyone here ever used Harley cooler part# 62871-99 on this model of bike. I am alsocurious as to how it works if it will fit, from the pictures it looks like it has some kind of a valve to turn it on and off, but who knows without seeing it.
There are a couple for sale on EBAY and I just want to make certian he isn't going to bring me a nightmare of some sort.
Any help would be appriciated. Thanks Jeff
I've got the JAGG oil cooler that is mounted on the left down tube and the adapter plate that the oil filter will screw on. It has a thermostat control that automatically opens at around 180 degrees oil temp. The first time I saw my syn. oil smoking from the engine heat, that made my mind up real fast. I also have a cooler on my 02 but when the air temp is below 50 degrees I go old school and put a leather cover over the cooler. I'm just not to keen on the coolerbelow the regulatorin an area where rocks (debris) sling off the front tire.
