Got my slammers on, also moved turn signals. Thanks to all for the JP cycles tip on the relocation kit. They were really easy to put on, and kept the clean look I was looking for. Thanks again.
Nice! How do you like the seating position with the forward controls, much different? Thinking about doing the same.
Asked this forum for some pics with the slammers on a wideglide and of course the members were good enough to take the time and post pics.
A couple of questions, are the slammers a HD part, approximate total cost (if it's not too personal), and as far as installation, do you need any special tools? I am not a mechanic but I feel comfortable putting slips on, detachable sideplates and minor stuff like this (not ready to my own servicing yet, yeah I hear the groans, can I help it if my father and brother got these abilities and not me?)[&:]
Iv'e got a feeling I will be investing in a torque wrench soon if I decide to attempt it myself?
Bsk116.....You can do it!hardest part was getting wires through bars, just take your time. There are many threads on how to get to the wiring harness, installing grips, and adjusting cables. Your cables may be too long, I really don't know..someone on here must have put slammers(or something like them)on a wide glide and they could tell you about the cables,on the custom, they work out just fine. The part no. is 56391-04. They list for 259.00, I got mine a little cheaper with a friends employee discount and waited to buy them at a 20%off sale. There are other bars made that look just like them, and don't cost so much, If you ask the guys on here, someone will have the answers. They ride great! They really don't change the reach for the bars any more than my old stock buckhorns. My hands lay more flat now, instead of at an angle. I am 6 feet tall, with forward controls and am very comfortable. Don't worry about asking questions, most of the guys on here don't mind passing on info that they didn't know untill they did it. In my opinion, the FIRST tool you should add to your tool-box is the shop manual for the model and year of your bike. Good Luck.....
Hello looking or the same setup on my bike. But can't find a turn signal relocation kit over here in the uk.How tall are the risers on the bars.
Just done stage 1 with v&h pipes ness bigsucker and ness bigshot fuel pack.
