I'll have to get a pic, but I've got an El Paso on my SG. Installed in 10 minutes. When I get time, I'm gonna do a little buffing on a few pieces of the fork clamps. They're just a little dull and kinda have that"got 'em a Home Depot" look. I like the fork mounted unit. It's adjustable for rake on both the top and bottom which gives a bit more choice. It looks very sleek, and it's only a little larger than the bar mounted shades. Keeps the wind off just right, for me anyway. I can also swap formore traditional shades for road trips like a Memphis Fats- less than $150 on ebay from time to time. Hope this helps.
SPORTECH windshields are nice with a clean installation,I am running the smallest one on my FXD,theypop off when you want abare bike.My only complaint is a vibration at lower rpm,but thats the nature of my bike.Visit their website for pictures and video.
Nice looking ride twofish - I thought about getting a WindVest, but they are big bucks and not sure they would do the trick. I wanted to do a turn signal relocation on my Wide Glide, but my HD detachable is in the way and its position is fixed. From your pix, it looks like the Memphis Shades mounts high enough on the fork tubes that I could do a signal relocation without interference.
My El Paso looks so close to the pics twofish put up that I think they'd have to be side-by-side to see the diff. The shapes are REALLY similar. The bottom of both has a nice angled cut out on the sides that would easily accomodate the signal relo, or leave plenty of room for the new HD aux lighting kit. The bottom of the shield only goes a little lower than the center of the lamp. I'm pretty sure the Memphis Fats might need a mod to use the aux kit, but would clear the signal relo if you were gonna eventually get both.
Thanks for the pics! You've got the same SG in blue that I have. Really helps to see what it'll look like on my bike. I just might add a black gradient shade to my pile. Switch it out now and then with my El Paso.
