my 06 fxd has a vibration at 70 in 6th gear just enough to blurr merrows. can feel it in the pegs and grips. bike has always had this since new.it has 8000 miles now.its not speed related because you can feel it any gear around 2500 to 2800 rpms.i rode a 06 dyna 35th anniversary and a 08 dyna custom that were smooth as glass.anybody else have thi problem??
My 07 has it from 2800-3200, any gear or sitting in the garage in neutral. I've also ridden several 06 and 07 Dynas that didn't vibrate at all and a couple that did, but not as bad as mine. I've shimmed and replaced the front motor mount, checked the rear mount for correct torque; no help. Dealer service says they can't feel it. Dealer service also says it's because I've changed the seat, shocks, handlebars and added a windshield.
the other bikes ive tried had factory grips and pegs .there motors seemed to vibrate same as mine but they didnt vibrate bars and pegs like mine does. ive checked all mounts cant find anything
Mine started doing the same thing just before the stator / rotor imploded, and has done it ever since. Havent figured that one out yet, keep us posted. Also I have to agree with Mud I dont use 6th gear until around 75-80, and mine's 95inches
my stator/rotor blew also but the vibes were there before. bike is a 06 turning 2750 at 70 wil pull downto 50 whithout lugging. also a 95 whith 75 trq at 2200. does yours vibe at 70 in 6th??
I posted on this lugging in 6th gear. Baker has a gear reduction kit that allows you to use 6th at lower speeds... They give you 2 choices depending on your driving style. A belt change is the only thing else you have to purchase.
dont believe its lugging if you can feel it in N any exhaust mods or tuner any thing else youve added that could be vibrating on motor also check alignment and the rest of the mounts Mounts do come loose
