I am planning a paint job on my Bob next month. Does anyone know if the new Superglide tank with the fill in the center will fit a Street Bob? I'd like tohave more clean surface for paint so getting rid of the side fuel guage and fill on the Bob tank would be great. Also would be nice to have a dash panel just big enough to cover the fuel pump access plate. Does anyone have knowledge of a shorter dash for the Superglide or Bob tank? I'd float out the seam to get more paint area there also. Thanks to all.
Yes, the newer FXDI tanks will fit your Street Bob. I have done a bit of looking and have never seen a dash other than the OEM Krinkle Black, or painted full size version, except....
Check out Mud's "Mudsickle". He has modded a short version which looks great.
Here's a suggestion for a speedo which may be just the ticket for your tank swap.
Looks great! What made you decide to go without a fuel gauge? Just curious...

It was more of a decision that I wanted a console mounted ignition switch. I thought the switch mounted below the gauge looked a little out of place. So away with the gauge, and startrelying on the trip odometer and a low fuel light.
I used the chrome gauge bezel from Harley around the switch to make it fit the hole. Once I have it finalized, I will be installing a chrome fuel cap to match.
