Default Hey all

Just found the forums, wanted to register up and say hey. Read around a little so far, figure I'll be posting and what not in the future.

Got my '08 bobber (denim blue) after a month and a half of order mix ups and headaches. Finally get it, winter sets in up here in WA. So as of last friday, I had all of 400 miles on it for the first 5 months. As of last night I've got 650 miles. Getting down to San Diego in June so it'll just get better.

Anyway, are there any thoughts/suggestions for an out-of-the-box bob? I love this bike and I love the ride.

Good to be here and look forward to hangin around.

(In Silverdale, WA btw, only seen 1 other bob in the past 6 months )

Welcome, and let me be the first to say: WE NEED PIX!!!

Outta the box suggestion: If it were mine, the first thing I would do is throw a Stage 1 kit on it.

WA to San Diego: Damn, that will be one helluva ride!

Once again, WELCOME from TX!

First off - welcome. Pix are a requirement around these parts...

A stage 1 kit is a good idea for any bike. But, other than that, there are so many ways to go with a bob, it's hard to give you specific ideas unless you get the occasional response from someone who thinks what they did to theirs is the only way to go and you should do exactly what they did.

Are you looking at bobbing it even more? Going all black with it? Going chrome with it? Setting up for passenger and/or touring? Or solo bar-hopping? The options are virtually endless.

As others have said, "Welcome" and from another Washington person. As for what out of the box things to do, well that can be a long conversation to be honest. As others have said, it all depends on what you want to do, what you like and well what are your intentions. Some of us have set up for long rides, so bags, shield, forward controls with floor boards ect. but then again this all depends on what you like. There is then the question of color scheme, if you want one. Some like all black, I mean all black, others some black and crome, others like the old school look, some the new school look and so on. What I did was just go the pics here on rides and see what others have done. Then figure out what I liked and made my own ride. For instance, here this afternoon I will be picking up a bunch of items that I am having powder coated. The biggest issue I am doing is I have always wanted wide white wall tires and on my 06 denim street bob they come stock with 17" rims which no one makes a white wall for, so I took a 16" rim and spokes and adapted them to work with my hub, then I had them powder coat the rims and hubs in red, the spokes black and the spoke nuts left crome and then installing Avon venom wide wall tires for the old hot rod look. Again, it all depends on what you like and like everyone has said, on here without pics, well lets just say get some pics up for everyone to see.
Good luck and maybe we will meet sometime on the road.

Howdy and Welcome Ike, from Michigan.
I feel your pain as the only handlebars I've been able to steer are on the snow thrower...
Spring will get here, eventually.
