Glad to hear you got the SEII's. Not bad sounding slip on's at all.

Not sure about the rivet thing....the dealer did mine.

I did mine mid summer last year and did not use the rivets. I ran it the rest of the summer and fall and had no problem. I ride hard and there was no sign at all of them becoming loose.

I didn't use the rivets either. I can tell you this...make sure you torque them down properly. I didn't lose them or anything, however, after about 300 miles, I noticed my bottom slip-on had moved about 1/2 inch. I didn't use a torque wrench on install since I didn't have one at the time. I retightened it pretty forcefully. Went back a month later after acquiring a torque wrench and found I still had two pulls on the wrench to hit 60ftlbs. No movement since in 700 miles.

Torque them.

I had the same question about the rivets on my bike.

I did not use them however I did make a mark with a black marker (where it couldn't easily be seen) so I would know if the pipes were slipping off.

Make sure you use a torque wrench though otherwise you will most probably not tighten them down enough. I could not believe how much force was required to get them tightened up. I ordered new clamps with my slipons.

one more question guys (for now)did any of you remove the baffles from your slip ons.i would like to but dont want to mess anything up.im really looking for that harley sound.not performance.they sound great as is,i figure you can always go a little better before crossing that line.also did yall use the hd download.like i said im not looking for performance so im looking to keep my bike running and sounding good the cheapest and easiest way possible im not into hoping up a motorcycle a bought it to ride and enjoy, not to work on it.thanx in advance.

Removing the baffles will effect low end performance. Those SEII's tuned to keep the proper amount of back pressure for optimal performance and good sound.

Cheapest way to achieve the Harley sound is to add your slipons and drive away. You won't need a d/l for that. My experience was that my bike ran acceptably with just the slipons and everything else stock. As far as baffles go, why don't you gut your stock mufflers and see what they sound like. Don't go messing with your new stuff. The SEIIs sound great. They set off car alarms but aren't that annoying (or awesome, depending on your point of view)
