Default Crazy Question

If I have the dealer install HD forward controls when I pick up my bike should I be getting some stock parts back ? I'm thinking I should but just want to make sure so if I don't get handed a little box with my parts I can says hey. Oh yeah and they want $345 in labour to put them on let me know what you think.

Thanks

I think you want them bad to pay that. I'd do it myself and if I couldn't handle it, I'd do what I DID do which is buy the Kury forwards and install them myself.

But, yes you should get the stock parts back and you are entitled to them back. Just be specific that you want them back, in tact.

You must ask, and you should! Make sure it is written on the ticket.

No idea about the labor....

Yes you should get yourmid parts back, I think it is a 4 hour job so it sounds like you dealer has a $86/hour shop rate. Did they give you an hour estimate or just a striaght up price quote?

I know some dealers ask you if you want your parts back. When I took mine in for the 1000 mile he even asked if i wanted the old oil filter. As for the controls they are farely simple to put on. There are quite a few threads bout them floating around. Although that pice is cheaper than the dealer was going to charge me, $450. Saved some money on that on.

If you are still going to have them installed I would maybe shop around, any other dealers in the area?

it's not a hard job dude, but if you wanna pay more power to ya. you should get the stock parts back though. when I was in carson city a few years back I went in to get my bars changed and they didn't give me my old ones. I thought it was crap so I raised a real stink and they somehow found my risers and bars again. I ended up sellin em to somebody here for like 50 bucks for their street bob. anyways, just make sure you ask for em

Get every part back! You paid for them. You could do like some of us have done and give them away to a fellow rider who is in need... Its not a hard install and you should save the $ and buy something else.
