I haven't done that swap but I did get as far as buying some fatboy bars before I decided I didn't like the sort of wheelbarrow feeling you get from them. By that I mean the bar ends are turned much more towards being parallel than standard LR bars. In the end I went with std Lowrider bars but used Deuce risers which are about 6 inches high and pull back 2 or 3 inches. If you use standard Deuce risers there's a bit on the bottom of the riser that you need to grind off, I'm sure there's a set available the same size that don't need any modification.
I'm considering going to 32"Beach Bars. Would like to see some pix of those on a Low Rider. HD has them, but dealer doesn't stock them, so I have no idea how they'll look.
I bought my LR used and it has road king bars on it. Comfy ride but forget about riding aggressively, it drives like a truck. Anywho next week it's getting either stock LR bars or Sportster bars, whichever feels the best.

the sporster bars turn your hand up and out......i do not like them at all...i thought about changing mine, but the factory LRbars are perfect..i thought about mini apes and still might
I agree stock LR bars are probably some of the best I have rode with. Tried the sporty thing too and found the same was true. I internally wired the stock LR bars last week, was a pain but looks sweet now.
Limey,
Did you have to replace any cables and brake line? Quite frankly, I like the LR bars, but just a wee bit taller and wee bit back sounds interesting. Could you post back?
I have Deuce risers and handlebars on my Lowrider, I love the look and feel of them ... I also didn't have to extend the wires or anything, they fit pretty well (other than having to shim under the risers so they would fit adequately)
