Default Lowering 08' FXD

Hey guys, I'm sure this has been covered before, and I did a search, but, wasn't able to answer my specific question. I just bought my wife an 08' Dyna Super Glide FXD and I want to drop the rear of the bike down for her. I have a Deuce softtail, so, I need you guys help here. I'm looking at a set of Progressive 412's 11" heavy duty shocks. First, she only weighs 150lbs wet, and she's 5'10", so, reach isn't a problem, but, how will these ride and how much will it lower the bike? She's a new rider, so, I don't want to do anything that will cause her any problems. Any help with this guys would be much appreciated.

I run the 11" 412 standards and I weigh 180. I have no probelms and have them on the 3rd setting. The HD's may be to stiff. Check out my profile pics. You may want to lower the front also but it isn't necessary and I ran like that for a while.

im running the same kit. to me they're a lot stiffer than the OEM shocks. it'll lower the bike an inch.

nkauf21, nice bike man. It's funny, I've got the Deuce, Suede blue and Vivid black, all the gleaming chrome, and she wanted nothing but a black bike with very little chrome. Anyway, I have to make a correction, she weighs 143lbs, like it matters, you know how it is though. Sounds like I need to skip these shocks and go with the standards as opposed to the HD's. Hopefully when my fat but gets on it I won't bottom it out, I run about 250lbs. 1nuckenfut, I'll take a look at the 812's. Did you have the 412's before and notice a difference, or are just comparing them to the OE shocks?

Thanks again guys, I appreciate the help on this subject.

The 812's are the 412's but with different covers on them.
