Hi guys, I would just like to say a heartfelt thanks to everyone who has helped me out on the Dyna forum. It has been a blast for the last year and a half and I have really appreciated all the help and opinions on my bike queries.
Now I have completed my Dyna ‘apprenticeship’ I am switching to a slop tail, my new Cross Bones will be ready to pick up on March 29th. I went for a test drive last Saturday morning and it was the clincher. The only major concerns I have is the boat tail fender (it’s gonna have to go) and the front brake (it doesn’t work) – I thought the Dyna brake was bad but this is sheeeite, big style.
There was me thinking that the single piston caliper looked a bit weak, but I imagined even HD couldn’t get it wrong again after a hundred years or more – how hard can it be? (to quote Mag Ruffmann) – the answer is, obviously, too freakin hard. The first junction I came to I pretty much went straight on!!!
I’m still in shock over the costs. I’ve dropped over 5K in folding beer tokens on the trade-in and the Boner is equivalent to nearly 26K USD over here (UK) all in, on the road!! Just think, you guys in the colonies bleat about prices – if only!!
So, many thanks and see some of you again in the slop tails.
Best regards to all.
Walter Windbag
P.S. I was going to go with the flat black again, but there is so much shiny black on the Boner (even the pinstripes are shiny) it just doesn’t set right. I went for the vivid black this time.
Congrats on the new bike, Walter - but don't feel you can't stick around here, too! Lots of softies poke their heads in the dyna forum every now and again. You're always welcome here.
