I installed Metzeler ME880 (front and rear) on my 2001 Dyna Super Glide laster year. There were no modifications done to installed the ME880 140 rear tire.

I did that to a 97. Not exactly the same bike, but close. It's a tight fit. There was only about 1/4" clearance on the belt.
My rear tire was not centered in the swing arm. I had noticed it before, but didn't worry about it. But it was a problem with the wider tire. I made some new spacers to move it to the right about 3/16". Any more than that would have required mods to the brake caliper bracket and a spacer for the sprocket.
The avon tire has a wider carcass than other tires of the same size. It rubbed on the inside of the fender where the wires for the turn signals come through and caused them to short out. I moved the turn signals to the license bracket, and all was well.
