I hope this makes sense. I added BootDR mini-boards and I love them. I used KURY 1 1/4 extensions to get them away from the pipes. The bolts tighten fine but where the actual clevis meets(male to female) is loose. I used the provided D-washers which is what comes stock on all HD pegs and they just don't seems to get the clevis tight. I tried putting 2 of the washers in the clevis but had troubles getting them both in. I may be able to force them. This may be a silly question and I hope I explained this better than I did to a couple of you so thanks for the help. I figured what better place to get an answer.
Sounds like the Kury extensions are bit smaller then the normal tolerance.
Maybe a ultra thin washer or a homemade shim made out of Stainless would work combined with the spring washer. ("D" Washer) Thin washer on one side, then the spring washer on the other to take up a bit of the slop?
Thanks. At least I know I explained it ok. So I guess for ME it wasn't too stupid a post. Makes pretty much common sense but it was just buggin the crap out of me. I tried two washers but I just wasn't thinkin out of the proverbial box so much appreciated.
No worries, No question is stupid. Your concern is legit. We've all been their and well, perhaps Next week I'll ask something that I'll need help with too.
We all have a chance to help eachother, that's whats so great about these forums and the fellow riders, diy's and wrenchers...
i put some Kury adj. passanger peg brackets on my WG. Had to shim mine with some really thin washers to get a tight fit. Did have to give then some extra pursuasion to get it all back together but they are tight now. Your on the right track, just experiement with different width washers and your get it figured out.
