Narrow Mounting Kit - Rear Directionals

Has anybody out there that has used the narrow mounting kit for the rear directionals had any issues with the replacement bolt being to long?

The bolts that came with my kit are bottoming out into the bulb socket on the interior of the directional.

I was going to try and shorten the bolts about an 1/8" to 3/16" of an inch.

Any feedback appreciated from anyone who has run into this.

Run a nut down before you cut them, then back the nut over the threads and all is good, it saves having to file the threads. A small washer of the right size will work as well. I just don't like the look of the washer.

The bolts that came with my kit were 2 7/8" long. They fit just fine. Perhaps the ones that came with your kit are longer?
