Default new rear shocks

So I want to lower the a$$ and look cool too.........go figure, So any way HD part#54619-08 is around $319 from Chicago Harley, Still too much so I searched further and found this
from www.surdyke.com
Category: Multi-Fit Part #: 54619-08 Price: $354.20 was $399.95 Description Premium Profile Low Rear Suspension Kit
Introduced on the '08 FXDF model, these custom rear shockslower your bike while they raise the level of style. These low-profile shocks lower the seat height by approximately 1". Therear shock and spring is completely covered with mirror-polishedand chrome-plated sleeves for a sleek, beefy look. Fits '07-later Dyna' models. Does notlower FXDF, FXDL or FXDB models. '07 Dyna models require separate purchase of Chrome Belt Guard KitP/N 60633-08. Does not fit with Detachable Saddlebags P/N 90181-08

Required Kit Part Number(s): 60633-08
The key Here is the first sentance "introuduced on the '08 fxdf model"
So off to the Parts catalog for the fxdf rear shock part number. Which is 54537-08 Which list for $210 at CH, Now the parts book also sez w/54556-84 (2) which is a bushing that is also common with my fxdc, And I understand that the Part# 54619-08 is actually listed as a "lowering kit"

Which Brings me to my question, is the "kit" for the '07? (even though I did the research from the HD website for a '08)

So any 08 fxdc owners just got the fxdf shocks on there bikes for the 210 bucks without the $109 dollar kit?

I can answer this question for you. I got a set of these shocks from a fat bob take off. they look great and handle better than stock. The "kit" is simply a upper belt guard that has a section that is more recessed for shock clearance. I did not buy a new belt guard and have had no problems clearance is tight but has not hit as of yet,my plan is to slightly bend the stock belt guard if needed. BTW Ipaid $200 for mine and am very satisified. One of the best mods I have done. If you have any questions pm me and I will help you out. See sig forwhat they look like on the bike. Also there aresome moreclose ups inmy photo album.
