Default Tire question

Ive searched this topic many times on different forums and still cant come up with a definitive answer. So, ill ask. Is anyone running a metzler me 880 150 on a 96-98 dyna series in stock configuration. I have a 98 wideglide and my 11" 412s will be on soon and new tire is definitely needed. I know a 140 will work but would like the look of a little more meat in the fender with a 150. Thanks in advance.

Not and exact answer to your question, but Metzler tires run smaller for the same ssize tire than other brands...I had about a 3/8" diffrence between them and dunlops of the same size.

I'm not sure, I have a 2000 WG and just made room for a 150 by removing the sideplates and going to a detachable system for the sissy bar. The pre-99 Dyna fenders are narrower. By the way, I'm running the ME880 also.

By the way... was the stock size a 130/90-16? If so, when you go to a 150 you need to go to a 150/80-16 so that the circumference is closer to stock. This will keep your speedo more correct and help keep the tire from rubbing inside the fender.

yes the stock tire size was 130/90-16. The tire i have on now is dunlop d401. it has about 1/4 inch clearance to the belt. Ive been reading that the mtzs run smaller than dunlops. If the metz 140 is as wide as the dunlop 130 then i would be happy.
