On HD's website they have a leather tool roll that mounts to the fram just below the voltage regulator. Id really like to add this to my Bob, but HD lists it to fit Dynas 03 and earlier. Does anyone know if the frame downtube spaceing is the same distance and dimension on an 06 Dyna frame as it was on the 03's. I know that the 06 Dynas had a frame re-design, but am hopeing that the bag would still fit.
The Dyna's changed significantly in '04. My opinion is that it still fit "well" that the MoCo would want to sell it and say that it would fit. That doesn't mean that it can't be made to fit.
Check out Beza for a really nice tool kit. Also Cruz tools and I even like the Craftsman set through Sears (one for Metrics and one for American).
Good luck, Art
im planning on measuring the downtubes of an 03 at my dealer when ever possible and comparing the specs to my 06, Ill let everyone know if i can make it work somehow.
It won't go on without making some modifications to the mounting system of the tool role. I went down this road, purchased one for my wideglide and decided that it wasn't worth it. The regulater is going to be in the way from what I recall.
I looked at frame bag for 05 dyna. Seems pretty universal but leather (?) was stiff and opening was sort of a cutout in front, and not the top like a fork bag. Wasnt able to fit small tool kit in the hole opening but same kit does go in a fork bag.
ALso, we bought the small cruztool like a swiss army knife. When mirror came loose one day found out sockets didnt have enough depth to fit over the acorn nuts. Wound up just putting together a little tool kit in pouch. My 2-cents
