Just playing with the idea of changing handlebars? I'd like ones that come back a little further but I don't want risers. I have the speedo mount as well as a tach. Any suggestions?
I can't stand the stock handlebars either and am not sure if I want to go with apes (did that with my previous FXR).
I am toying with the idea of doing beach bars, but right now I don't really have the funds or time to make that change.
Now I'm thinking, "why nota new set of risers - something that sweepd back a little?" The reason I hate the stock bars is because I am leaning too forward.
Anyone out there do this? Would I have to replace all cables/wiring, or can I just do a swap out of the risers?
I swapped my buckhorns out with lowrider bars and 4" pull back risers, I'm really happy. Had to move my turn signals (well, I didn't "have to", but it was easier with them moved).
I went with the (L5)Flanders Knucklebars. Rise:3.5"Pullback:10.5"Center:7.5"Width:35" Diameter: 1"
the (K5) is only 32' wide with 10.25 pullback which looking at there bar chart has a little more pullback than the stock 2007 fxdi setup.
Are the FXDC cables same length as the FXD's? netvampire, I really dig your setup, but if it means having to swap cables, not going to happen til next winter.
Sorry but i dont know, i think the fxdc cables would be slightly longer due to the stock bar size seems to be a little higher and wider .
i just took a chance going by the measurements i couldn't see a problem. and i never needed a cable change.that's why i mentioned
the (K5)looks closer to your stock setup.check the sizes out yourself.http://www.sideroadcycles.com/Americ...tock_Bars.html
