I went to dealer for service at 1.600 km. In the service manual it says I should go at 8.000 km but my dealer advised me at 4.000 km. Now my bike is around 3.500 km. Should I respect manual or dealer ?
Second question ; what do the dealer do even at 4.000 or 8.000 ( I mean in 2nd service )
what sort of mileages and riding do you do ? Service intervals are only guidelines. which is why you gte the book saying X-miles or 6 months which every comes first. I am sure you will find a copy of the service schedule in the handbook or on the net with what gets done at what distance. I do know there is a lot less to do on the 2000 and later bikes than the earlier ones like mine. Mostly these days its a oil and filter swap and a check over the bike and check for brake and belt wear.
get a manual and a few tools and do it yourself. it really not that hard and youll have the satisfaction of knowing its done right. the money you save can go for some nice mods
The intervals in the manual were set by the engineers who designed the bike and the service organization whose job is to keep them going. What are your dealer's credentials?
