I guess I'm just not cut out to quit mod'ing my bike. Never really considered lowering it but now I'm thinking about it. I'm 6'4" and weigh 240. Wife rarely rides but I have to make provisions for when she does (i.e. $300 seat, $300 sissy bar, $330 windshield ). I'm wondering if someone my size that may occasionally carry on a 115 lb passenger can get away with some shorter shocks without worrying about bottoming out? Anybody with similar size/weight constraints done it with no issues? If so, what did you use?

Greg. My wife and I together are 340lbs. I have the 11.5" 412s and have never had a problem.

WOW!! and you told me you were only like 140 lbs...............WOW,WOW,WOW!!
And if I had realized Greg was that big, I'd have been more careful what I said to him[8D]I'm stayin away from his part of da country.
Doug, my current wife is half the size of my ex. Even at 200 lbs, she still looks skinny.
God I hope she doesn't see this.
OOPS!!! sorry, I think you had mistakenly given me her email address during some of our correspndence........ really, I didn't mean to forward this thread to her
BTW, did your ex ever show up?? PAfromJay has never mentioned her, again.
Also, mine are 11", not the 11.5s I previously posted.
And yes the Progressives are adjustable.
I was gonna say, I'm looking at EP's website right now. The only 412's I see are 11". $195 with free shipping. Looks like a decent price. Stockers on mine are what, 12"?
Did you get a better ride as well?
Anyone got a second opinion on these shocks as an option to lower yet improve my ride?
Wait. I see 11" 412's that say they fit 91 - 07 dyna's. But, they also have 412 HD shocks that say they are good for riders 200 lbs and up that often carry passengers or luggage but they are 12.6" (even though the pic looks the same) but they also say they fit 91 - 06 dyna's. Doesn't make a lot of sense why 1 would fit through 07 and the other 06 does it? Which one is right for me? Are the HD's more like a stock replacement size?
