When Ibought my 07 Superglide I told the salesman that the only extras I wanted was a two up seat and passenger pegs. That was a year ago.I really meant itat the time.Since then I have added $2000 in stuff like bags, pegs, pipes, windshield, luggage rack, backrest, etc. I'm far from finished in my quest in having the perfect Harley.Funny thing is I'm enjoying spending the money on this quest!(I am not wealthy but I have a decent income and my kids are adults now,but I still help them out too) Who doesn't?
Sure sounds familiar Rawhide. Thought I would only need a windshield, engine guard w/fog lights, sideplates, and sissy bar. That was $2-3,000 ago. No end in sight now. I went throught a divorce 4 years ago and retired 2 years ago. Figured it was now or never. Sure has been fun.
I had a mild heart attack in September. It makes you realize that you should do what you want to do. Have fun you can't take it with you.
Yeah I got hit with a Life check about a year ago. Funny how that works out. When you finaly realize you're not going to live forever, you start to really live. Buying a bike again was my way of getting some living out of life.
My bike will never be, "done". It will always be a work in progress, what ever way my thoughts or desires go so it will with the bike!
That's why I bought a used one. It was only 8 months old, and the previous owner had already put on the pegs, grips, passenger seat and pegs, Stage 1, and V&H exhaust. It was already done, cool!!! Yeah, right!!! God only knows how much more I have spent on it.
