Tire replacement
To find the tension, you will need a belt tension gauge available at any Harley shop. This is a little spring tool that presses against the belt on one end and pushes a spring plunger on the other end. There is a mark at 10 lbs. Push on the plunger until you are at the 10 lb mark. You should have about 1/4 to 3/8' at 10 lbs of deflection at the middle of the belt.
If you are going to be a do it yourselfer, you need a shop manual. The manual will give good directions for belt tension.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Bill

You can pick up one of the tension tools at an HD dealer for only $19.00. Not bad for a tool you use all the time. All your maintenance intervals require you to check your belt. I don't have the part number off hand but if you call your dealer he should know exactly what your talking about.[sm=americanasmiley.gif]
