Sears RED Jack wont work with my FXD
So it will fit under the FXD without any lift/ adapter kit??????????
Thanks
I like when they demo those one jacks at bike week with a softail on it and jump all over the bike to show you how stable they are. Try that with a Sportster...

The adapter kit has 3 evenly sized pieces that clip onto the 3 even corners of the frame. Then there is one smaller piece that fits into the uneven metal strip that someone mentioned. There may be 8 different methods for doing it but here is how I go about lifting my dyna with the Red jack. First, I position the 3 clipon pieces onto the frame. On the left side of the bike, I angle the 2 pieces inward so the jack won't hit them and push them out. I put the lift into position and push it under the bike until it stops. Then, I straddle the bike and stand it up. Then I can push the jack further under the bike and adjust the positioning of the 3 adapters. After that, I put the small adapter in place. I carefully get off the bike on the right side while holding onto the handlebars with one hand to hold the bike as steady as possible and use my foot to bring the jack up. As soon as the jack has contact with the adapters, it's steady enough to let go and begin lifting the bike off the ground. You want to lift it high enough to engage the first position of the locking mechanism at minimum (extra safety). As soon as you get it as high as you want it and locked, attach the tie down and pull it tight. Once I get it that far, it's stable enough that I can actually move the bike around my shop on the lift with no worries.
Now, I have and will use the lift without the adapters or a tie down if I just want to quickly stand the bike up straight to do something but I don't lift it far enough to take all of the weight off the tires or take either wheel off the ground. It doesn't seem to endanger anything. I have a buddy that has a dyna that is a few years old. He's been using the red jack with his since he got the bike and he never even heard of the adapters until I told him about them. I'm not sure - maybe his bike is built a bit differently and he doesn't need them.
Bottom line, don't believe everything you read about the Red jack. It does and will work and there are plenty of us here that use and trust it. I personally don't know anyone that has had any issues that can truly be blamed on the jack instead of the user. Some people just seem to have a hard time believing you can't get something that works properly and pay less for it.
