i screwed up when taking my tank off to get it painted by assuming the ****-pit on my street bob was like my old jap bike. i did not think about the fuel pump being connected to it. i knocked the sensor out of wack.does any one know how to set this? because right now, it is reading empty when the tank is full.

The fuel guage is separate from the fuel pump and has its own electrical connector by the frame under the tank. Make sure that is connected properly and none of the connector pins came loose.
If I remember correctlythe fuel guageis controled by a vertical float assembly similar to some toilet tank floats.
That's all I can think of unless the float itself was damaged.

Yeah, check the plug on the left side of the bike just under the tank.
I changed my tank out and first run of the year tank said empty, went to fill it up(shaking my head knowing there was about a half tank) , but about 1 1/2 gals. in still read empty.
It was plugged in, (or so I thought) unplugged it, plugged it back in, has worked since.
Hopefully your is that easy...
