Default Fat Bob vibration

Had a test ride on a new Fat Bob today - impressed, but surprised at the low speed vibrations. After my Sportster I thought it would be smoother-but it was worse up to 3000rpm then got really sweet. Are they better after higher mileage as I don't think I could live with that roughness all the time.No use for back roads pottering with a passenger! Dealer had put V&H radius pipes on it (Stage one) but it only had 300miles on the clock.
Oh and why doesn't the UK get the mid-mount footrest option - I don't like forwards!

Don't get one if you don't like it. They don't get any smoother with time. You will probably be better off sticking to the Sportster or looking at a Jap bike. Something like an FJ1300 might suit your purpose. You get very little vibration apart from a tingling in the bars now and then. They are great for passengers and they work well at all speeds.

And here I thought that vibration was a good thing! [sm=yeahsmile.gif]

Seriously though, I've never even noticed the vibration in my Fat Bob. Guess I don't really have anything to compare it to, never having ridden a sportster. It's been ages since I've ridden anything else. To me, it just felt like a Harley should!

Nothing here. Rides like a champ for me. Granted, this is my first Harley.

I had an 07 1200L Sportster before I got my FatBob....In my opinion it was a lot more "Buzzy" than my new bike. Maybe I just like my FatBob so much more I could care less how much it vibrates....I hear(not really hear because they are so quite)the Honda Interstate is a very smooth running bike....maybe that suites you more.

I have owned 6 HD, they ALL vibrate, its part of what a HD is. If you were experiencing excesive vibration by HD standards I would look into it. Test drive another and see if its the same. If you are looking for a bike with little or no vibration you probly need to look for another brand.

Hi.Everytime there is a post about Vibration on a Dyna specifically, there is the usual chorus of comments like "it's a Harley","Harley's vibrate","get a Jap bike"etc. On the demo you rode it had a Vibration below 3,000 revs, whichcould have been because of an adjustment or fault or whatever on that particular bike which wasunusual or not typical.Arnolds suggestion to try another or several Dynas is a good one.I've owned 2 Dynas & test rode 3 others & they ranged from smooth to chronic vibrationsmainly between 2,5k & 3k revs. There are lots of postssuggesting different causes & reasons with lots of opinions, probably the best one by 84FXRP on V-Twin forums.
Graham.

Never noticed "unusual" vibration on mine either. It bounces a little at idle...the mirrors vibrate pretty much at any speed. Again, seems normal to me. The only thing that I didnt like is the vibration I get with my detachable luggage rack. That bugs me cause I can hear it...but when I take it off...all seems fine to me.

I guess I just got a dead *** because I had a rubber mount sportster and didnt feel any vibration and the same with my fat bob . As odd as it may sound my buddys honda shadow 750 spirit is way more buzzy than either bike I mentioned above.
