Yes, you can do these mods one at a time but the risk that you will lean out the bike too much is there. The PC and the fuelpak are piggyback systems but the Tmax is a replacement for the stock computer, it is not a piggyback system. The stock system uses narrow band O2 sensors on the exhaust pipes while the Tmax uses wide band sensors. The difference is that the wide band sensors can make larger adjustments to the mixture based on "wider" reading capability.

There is a K&N filter which is a direct replacement for the stock filter that, IMO, doesn't constitute much of a change. The round K&N or SE filters flow about 20-30% more CFM. Go with one of these if you are going to make the change.

As for the fuel systems, if you are ONLY changing the air filter and pipes, go with the PC or the Fuepak. I've used them both and prefer the PC. It has quite a bit more capability and if you buy it from someone who has a good library of maps, you bike will run very well. If you plan to change cams or other major mods the PC can handle that too but dyno testing will be required. The Tmax, DTT, and SE systems are more flexible regarding what you can change but IMO you'll still want to dyno test the set up.

Finally, "noticable" differences in power will not be achieved with the air filter/pipes/fuel management system change. The only thing you'll really notice is whether the bikes idles right and if you have popping etc. on deceleration. You might notice a little better pull on the bottom end but that's about it. The other thing you will notice is a reduction in engine temperature.

There are tons of threads on fuel management on the board and most of what I've learned I've learned there or through my own experimentation. Good luck.

added v&h short shots to my 08' fatbob and nothing else and it runs great! don't see the need to mess with the ecm until major mods are done.

No if you just change the pipes you probably don't have to do anything. BUT, if you aren't runing synthetic oil I would switch to that to give you some better heat protection. Go to the ECM/Tuner section as there is a product called the nightrider IED's that cost less than $80 and you can install yourself and will make your 07 run way cooler. Lots of people are getting them and reporting excellent results. You can also easily unplug them if you have to take your bike in for warranty service.
