I changed all the fluids lastnight, and while I was under the bike pulling drain plugs I noticed that the back underside of my primary is wet. I've got oil coming from somewhere, the whole back side of the back half of the primary is wet. It's not leaking bad enough to leave drips under the bike but it was pretty wet. I cleaned it all off filled her up and put it back together, I'm not ready to start pulling thing apart until I have a better idea of where it's coming from.
The other thing that seemed out of the ordinary was the drain pulg for the trans., the magnet was completly covered in metal sludge. I know to expect some stuff on the plug but this seemed excesive, I couldn't even see the magnet.
Now that everything is cleaned off, you need to ride it some to see if you can get it to leak again. May give you a better idea of where it is coming from. I wonder of the primary gasket is bad underneath, and just leaking slightly.
When you changed oil filter did you get any on or around the rubber engine mount? It soaks up oil and then when ya run it or let it sit it will run back and drip!

That was my plan, I have a primary gasket that came with my forward controls. Hopfully thats all it is and it can be an easy fix. I'm affraid it might be a seal in the back of the primary, however the belt and pully are dry.
Metal in the trans is a sign of the inner primary bearing coming apart. After about 2000 miles and 2-3 trans oil changesyou should have almost none. I am using the redline shockproof heavy trans oil and since 2500 milesI get no metal.not even fuzz on the magnet..so watch your trans plug closely. As for your leak.....don't do anything until you figure out what is leaking.
When you remove the primary cover the gasket needs to be changed, one time use only. With the direction that everything rotates inside, would it not fling the fluid towards the back? Maybe that's why it leeks while your riding as opposed to dripping on the ground while a standstill.

I just ordered some Redline SPH, it about time I try the stuff anyway. I have a feeling my primary leak is a seal in the back of the inner casing, could an IP bearing failure also cause this seal to fail? I've heard an '06 Dyna with a bad IP bearing and mine still sounds fine.

I don't think the IPB will caise a leak. Have never heard of that. You will just have lots of metal shavings in the trans and a metallic sheen on top of the drained oil. There is a inner seal on the rear shaft that may be leaking but the front belt drive sprocket would be wet. Have you tightened the allen screws on the top trans cover where the vent tube attaches? Have you checked the end of the vent tube to see if it is wet?

No, I haven't checked the vent tube. I'll look into it today. I've only had the bike out for 50 miles this season and it wasn't leaking when I put it away. Thanks for your input.
Ok so 900 miles have past and now my leak is bad, I'm leaving at least nickle sized drops everytime I park the bike. \\;\\\\\\; I'm certin that the leak is coming from between the primary and trans. \\;\\\\\\; I drained the trans again and found the plug completely covered in filings, so bad that the magnet could not even be seen. \\;\\\\\\; The oil in the primary and tras. both had a metalic sheen. \\;\\\\\\;
 \\;\\\\\\; I'v taken the outter primary cover off and everything looks normal. \\;\\\\\\; My primary hasn't started to make any odd noise so I'm still pretty sure the IP bearing is fine. \\;\\\\\\; \\;\\\\\\;I just wanted to check with you guys before I continue to pull the inner primary, also If I'm already pulling the IP I might as well change the bearing, so anyone have a part #?
