Bottom line, though, get what you want even if you have to go further or wait a while. If you settle, you'll be sorry. That's my opinion. I can't be critical of any color because we all have our own tastes. Yellow is not my favorite for a bike but then again, none of them struck my fancy but the black. There were 1 or 2 other colors I may have settled for and been okay but they were very dark colors. But, I accept the fact that some like the bright colors and hate black. That's fine by me as well.
I like the idea of picking it up for them though. That could be an option. Thanks again everyone.
Hell yeh! Find a nice day and get someone to take you there and ride it back assuming you are comfortable doing that. I'd never ridden a street bike in my life, only dirtbikes, until the day I got mine. After a 5 minute test ride behind the dealer, I was good to go and rode it 70 miles home, highway all the way and half of the trip was in the dark and it was cold as ice - almost froze the grin on my face.
DO NOT SETTLE...like everyone says, getting what you want is worth the wait. Having said that, I bought the yellow and it gets a lot more attention than the two black HDs I had before...
I just ordered a 2008 FXDC in Vivid Black and I will have to wait until mid June to get it! Don't compromise and get what you want. You will have this ride a long time and will regret not getting a color you like. If you can get the dealer to give you an extra $600 discount , you could pay for a color you really like. Say, maybe black with some really cool red and yellow flames. Yah... that's the ticket. Just kidding:[8D] get what you want and don't listen to the rest of us.
Should of just ordered the '09 if you're willing to wait until june what's anther couple months?
My experience is that the right bike will call to you. You just gotta keep looking until you find it. I personally LOVE the yellow FXDC. Almost bought one when I was looking. That bike still looks so sweet and I like dyna's a lot... just not as much as my geezer glide...
Yeah if you can wait for the Black then do it.. but i agree about the sunset yellow that there is a certain something about it... i have seen the one on the website... But go for what you want, unless they kick down a nice discount to take the yellow off the floor... maybe the Stage 1....
i got the yellow one and i got my dealer two put the superglide alloy wheels on it i broke way to many spokes on my old bike. I think what is missing is a red accent stripe on the rear fender if you get to see the color in person in the sun its yellow with green and red pearl in it very flashy that was the sellig point for me. I love it the top half with the sun on it looks a lot brighter than the bottom with no sun its like having two different color bikes depending on the sun Did you get to see it in the sun????
