is there a way to charge the battery without having to take the seat off every time?

When I bought my Battery Tender Jr. it came with a harness that connects to the battery terminals and leaves a plug to hook the battery tender to. You leave the harness on the bike and tuck it along side your battery out of the way. My O5 came with one attached so I just plug the battery tender in when I am not riding for a while. It takes about5 seconds.

Battery maintainers usually come with a short pigtail wire harness that you permanently attach to your battery posts, then you feed the other end which has a special conector, out the side of the bike where it's easily accesible. Mine sticks out just behind the battery box.
Another thing you can do is just take your scoot for a 40+ mile uninterupted ride frequently!

suspect it may be a battery issue.
i pull the choke, 2 twists of the throttle, and hit the button.
turns over once and fires

I'm using a Schumacher 1.5A battery companion from Wallyworld.
If you buy one, get one thats fully automatic, so you dont have to worry about leaving it on too long and cooking your battery. The auto ones, go into a float mode when the batt is fully charged.

Cheers... Ben.
