Why would H-D insist on trying to produce replicas that are designed to compete with Japs. They are not going to beat Japs in their own game. I hate the look, I hate the bike. This is NOT what H-D is about, IMHO of course. It costs millions to design/engineer/produce a new model motorcycle. Why not spend the money on improving the "classic" line up instead of making yet another "suzuki bandit 1200, kawasaki zrx1200, ducati monster, etc" replica. Not all of them are twins but the idea is the same. Moving with times doesn't have to mean producing modern street racers!
Now, give me a 1948-1950 shovelhead replica anyday!
Great shots Mud and the history is appreciated. I remember those bikes from flat track hey days of the 70s. Would love to have one just to fart around on.
got to see Scott Parker take the xr1200 and his xr750 up the hillat the goodwood festival of speedlast year. The 750 went up like a rocket but you could tell the 1200 wasnt any where near the bike its trying to copy
and here isthe man himselfstood with it on the harley stand at the show.
Not strictly Dyna realted but, are you getting this model in the US?
Ah! I saw one of these in the repair room at Dudley Perkins yesterday. It was painted flat black and said something like "monster machine" or something. Very impressive.
I was trying to figure out which model it started as, now I know.
