In NC we have it. On my Fatbob it is mounted on a small plate that is bolted to the frame where the downtubes split. I am having problems finding a good spot for my DOD sticker. Anyone got any good ideas for the Dyna??????
No inspections in ND, on ANY vehicle, AT ALL! Pretty sweet coming from NH where we had yearly ones!
Also, the base I'm at (not sure which others have done so), got rid of the DOD stickers on ALL vehicles. Seeing as how they don't just wave you in anymore, and check ID's 100% (and it cost the AF over a million a year to produce them), they just stopped requiring them.
However, in my Command, they just implemented a new sticker for motorcycles. You have to attach this REALLY gay looking, about 2" x 2", white sticker on the left side of your bike. It shows that you completed the MSF course. I guess they're tryin to cut down on the time it takes bikes to show their Safety card at the gate. Good plan, could have designed the stickerA LOT better. Haven't decided where to put it yet. Thinking lefttop of the frame, almost square looking part...
I thought California had a vehicle inspection test that included the check for vehicle emissions. If not then how and when do they check emissions?
I know they smog test cars but I think it is once the vehicle is 5 years old. They don't look at the rest of the vehicle though and it's not required for motorcycles. For cars you don't get a sticker after the smog test either, if it doesn't pass you can't renew the registration untill it is fixed.

Wow, I hope AFMC doesn't decide to have us put a sticker on ours. I don't know how much you ride on base but you could make a removable mount and attatch it before you ride to work. They don't even check your MSF card at my gate when you ride on base.

OH Boy, I bet it's coming! ACC started it, I think, and I'm sure it'll catch on! In the summer, I ride everyday I can, and then she's put away for more than a few months in the winter (sure you've heard about Minot [:@]). That's a good plan on the detach. They used toonly, VERY RANDOMLY,check our cards. Hopefully with this new, poorly designed sticker, that's going to stick out like a sore thumb and look like abolute *** on my bike, they won't check the card at all. Pain in the *** pulling it out, but worse putting it all away, trying to hold the glove I had to take off (thatthe AFrequires meto wear) in one hand, wallet or holder in the other hand, with the line at the gate backing up, the guard staring at me, etc...
Cut a piece of stainless steel plate and mounted it so it would be flush with the top of the upper belt guard..... polished the plate and mounted it to the front belt guard bolt with a rubber washer between the plate and the belt guard........stays put, doesn't scratch the guard and doesn't stick out like a "sore thumb".
Almost looks like it belongs there.
You can see it on the picture just behind the passenger footrest.

California has no such process for motorcycles. There is no "smog test" there is no emissions sticker.
However, the State is rapidly trying to figure out how to get more money out of me every year, so stay tuned.
How does that work in California? Don't they just test the manufacturers items and force them to conform to their standards before they're allowed to sell a vehicle in their state or something?
