I lowered my wives 2007 Bob with the progressive 11inch stock.Theylowered the bike about 1 1/2.look good and work great, the only issue is she drags the mufflers when making a sharp right turn. So she is thinking about putting the Vance and Hine black short shots on, hoping to get a little more clearance on the rith hand turns.
so are the HDs really that more stiff? i way 170 and i do single riding and once in a while the wife gets on for a ride. so should i go with the HDs or the standard
im wantign to get the 11"
also should i lower the front at the same time?
does the front end look out of place like it is to high up?

I'm your size, and I bought my last bike with 11" Progressive HD shocks and it was painfully stiff. Besides the higher spring rate, they had very little travel. I swapped them for 11.5 or 12" standard duty Progressives (I think they were both 412 series, but it's been awhile) and I was much happier with the ride.
i have air shocks... lowering shocks... dropped me about 2 3/4 in... i re wired under my fender when i put on the wide tire but it is LOW... real low with me on it!
Ok, here's a set of before and after pics with the Progressives and LePera seat
I'm pretty sure you can go lower with the blocks but even the manufacturer of the lowering block kits don't recomend going two up with a 2" drop or using it at all if you weigh over 200lbs
Just fitted a set of Hagon shocks to my bob. They tailor make them to your weight andcost ÂŁ169 (about $300)night and day! Can't believe the difference they make!
I kept the standard length as imo the stock shocks don't have enough damper travel as it is and shortening them would make it worse.
I'm running 11" Progressive 412's. I also have a C&C lopro solo seat which lower me another 1 1/2". Being about 6' tall with this combo I can almost bend my knees when I put my feet down. It's great.
