The other day I'm out on the bike had to go to a meeting for work well leave the meeting and go back to my store. After I get out of work go hit the starter and CLICK. WTF I just put a new battery in it a couple weeks ago so I figure thats the problem. I take the battery out borrow one of my employees truck and of the HD Dealer(Cummings HD Burton MI.). Walk in and go to the parts counter and ask the guy if he would check out my battery. He checks the battery and it shows good so I asked if he had any ideas, I thought it was the starter. He said sounds like a bad connection or starter relay.Hesaid they had changed the part number of the relay for the 04 Dynas asked if I wanted to buy one if it wasn't a bad connection it's only five bucks. Well hell yeah a Harley part that cheep I'll take one with me. Go back to work put the battery back in and swap out the relay and boom all better. Go back to Cummings and thank the parts counter guy Larry for helping me out and picked up a spare relay. Is this a very common thing to happen? Is there something that causes it to go bad?
Just wanted to mention Cummings because they could have just have easily said nope no idea what it could bebut we'll send the trailer to pick it up and look at it for you...LOLGotta love good customer relations.

Yeah, you got'a love'em when they do what their supposed to do......but, no, I haven't had that problem...Yet !!

Doubt it's a common problem, but the relay is a mechanical part and is destined to fail, eventually.

Install a starter switch like this one and you will never be left stranded because of a stater relay problem again.
