Recently, I had a thread going on the quality of LePera seats. Virtually everyone that posted was very complementary of Lepera in terms of quality, fit, and workmanship. I must say they were right. I received my Daytona 2-UP on Friday and am very impressed. The quality is outstanding .... heads and tails above any other seat I've owned. I rode close to 80 miles yesterday and couldnt be happier in my purchase in terms of comfort, looks, and fitment.
I ordered my seat direct through LePera, and went basketweave in the seating areas.... (props to Marrano for the picsand help).I figured if I was about to drop money on a seat that was being made for me, I'd get something different. I also thought basketweave would be cooler and breath better in the hot, humid weather around here (lower Alabama). The Daytona 2-UP seemed to be the best "compromise" seat I could find .... meaning it has enough passenger comfort for a 200 mile day, but still retains a low, clean, and tidy appearance. TheDaytona is lower than stock, has a fair amount of lumbar support, and is nowider than the sideplates in the rear.
Thanks for the kind words .... I like this seat a great deal. To answer your question, the wife hasnt taken a ride yet. However, she's short and never liked a wide passenger seat at all .... said she was uncomfortable and felt she was having to fight to keep her feet on the passenger pegs. I figure that's the best luck I've ever had .... allowed me to get the seat of my choice and one that wasnt a road sofa. As I stated above, the Daytona 2-UP seemed to be the perfect fit.
No sooner than I had the seat mountedshe wanted on back .... sat there a few moments and said that she loved it. Considering she hated the wider seat, I have no doubt she'll make a 200 mile day on this one. Once we ride I'll let you know.

Thanks again for the complement ....

Please let me know what she thinks after a ride. My bike still has the stock seat on it. Believe it or not, it's comfortable enough for me, but my wife doesn't like the passenger part at all. She says it rubs the insides of her legs (kinda turned me on when she said that, but that's another story.) Seems to me like she's saying she'd like a narrower seat as well.
I think I'll get the Lepera Daytona 2-up like yours (maybe the "regal plush" for comfort - it sure is fugly, though.)
I'll let you know. We/ll probably head out Sat. afternoon with a few other folks for dinner on the coast if the weather is right. Once again, I cant say enough about how well-made this seat is.

Thanks man. I think I'll get one. I was already eyeballing this model before I saw your post and you pretty much pushed me over the edge. I don't particularly like the looks of the regal plush model, but my wife and I both expect it to be more comfortable than the other models. It looks like it would be anyway.
I think I'll buy that model and a matching sissy bar pad.
Hay Sgt I see you still have weeds,
I order a deluxe solo from Lepera and I guess it will be here this week, The basket wave does look nice, I like it I went with vinyl because I was told too then buy a gel pad for long trips "IF I THINK I NEED A GEL PAD" So its a hit or miss, we'll see when it gets here, I'm 65 and my Axx doesn't have padding like it use to.
