Thoughts on what's causing this would be appreciated.
The ole lady and I were rolling up the highway, runnng our typical 70-75mph....Had a gentle curve to the left, and as I was leaning the scoot, I hit a bump, and when the scoot finally settled back on the road, my rear tire decided it wanted to continue to slide to the right. Fortunatley there was no one in the right lane next to us, and I straightened up the scoot and shot over into the right lane, to stop the skid. I yelled at the Ole lady to check out my rear tire, as it felt squirelly, like it was going flat on me, she said it looked ok, and we continued to our stop.
I got off the scoot, and my right shock, rear wheel, and frame from the battery back, was covered in transmission oil.
I checked under the scoot, and there is no oil down there at all. The gasket and cover to the tranny looks good from the top.....I'm at loss where this oil came from????
I'm sure you checked your fluid at the dip stick--if that's good then all I can think of is that maybe the bump you hit was a pot-hole of old trans fluid from other vehicle? Wish I knew and could help! Maybe someone else might know. Glad you guys are OK!
That's why I hate the swingarm being mounted to the tranny. It's a disaster waiting to happen!. It sounds like you might have cracked the case or something. It might not be visible, until there's a load or stress on it. Glad you were able to pull out of it safely!
