I had read a short bit ago that dyna trannys had a recall? I was all set to get a Street Bob, then I read this, it kinda makes me wonder about spending the cash if Im gonna by somthing straight from the factory that was screwed up.....
Can some riders set my mind at ease aboout my purchase?
patience grasshopper. It's Saturday and some pholks have good weather.
The recall on the Dyna trannys effects bikes made within a certain time phrame. Production was changed, and all newer Dynas do not need the recall repair work done. Repair kits have been sent to all dealers, and they have been making the changes to their stock. If you go buy a bike today, I will almost guarantee you that the recall work will have already been performed on it.
I could be wrong but, from what I have been told by my dealer....the neutral indicator light was at times giving false readings. Indicating that the bike was in neutral when in fact it was in first gear. The repair was only for bikes manufactured before October 19 of last year.
yeah boxer had my tranny peices changed out start of january(recall work).didn't have problem b4,and is even better now.love the new gearbox smooth as silk.
I wouldn't worry about it. Almost every vehicle made has some sort of recall sometime during or after production. Nothing is perfect! Just make sure that the one you get has had the recall repair accomplished. No reason to change models just because of one little problem. Just be happy the factory caught it before you got yours!

Sounds like a very minor issue to me..... My light's been burned out for about 8 months. I can feel whether it's in neutral or not, I don't need some idiot light to tell me so.
It was a recall because a few bikes would show nuetral when not in nuetral. I havent heard anything about bikes jumping into gear when already in nuetral. The dealer will have you fixed up in about 3 hours and you will be right as rain.
