Default drag bar riser/pullback ????

morning, all. ive got to change the stock bars on my 98 lowrider. i really like the look of pullback drags. how much riser /pullback do i need to clear the tank and provide comfort ?? im 6 foot,and added extended forward controls. dealer says 8 inches . any opinions? thanks

As far as clearing the dash, 6" risers will be enough.But if you're going to leave the turn signals on the handlebar, you need to look at end rise and width as well. I put 6" riser (4" end rise)30" wide t-bars on a Wide Glide and the signals hit the tank. These particular bars had 10.5" of pullback and that wasn't enough for me. Personally, I'd look for at least 12" of pullback, but that gets you into a 10" riser which I think looks silly.

Check out the Wild1 website. They have lots of pictures of customer bikes with different t-bars installed. I am going with 6" rise bars on my superglide, but I don't have the tank mounted speedo. You might consider the 8" rise.
As for the turn signals, look at relocating them to the fork tubes. Personally, I think they look better there with drags.
