I bought my Fat Bob in January@ Cool Springs HD. I have been careful to following instructions when it comes to washingas it is the Den. Black color. However, this morning I noticed that the chrome plating was flaking off. It appears thatit bubbled and tore open while riding and now the darn thing is coming off all over leaving the nickle under it exposed. The section invloved is on the left hand side. Has anyone else noticed this yet. My bike is only four months old and hasn't been riden that much (2K) and has had only about four washings.[:'(]

Sounds like it was a poor plating job. Had about 5k on mine when I changed out the headlight but never had any problem. I'd take it back to the dealer. Good Luck.

Take it back to the dealer. You paid for good chrome and it should not be peeling off. Not your fault or the dealers. Good luck and keep us posted on what they say.

One of the invoices I received from the delivery dealer (Chester's, Mesa) showed the original owner had one of the stock mufflers replaced under warranty for a chrome flaw...take 'er in.

Back to the dealer there aint much you could have done washing it to remove chrome Unless you use battery acid. You have a warranty and they should cover no problem
