If you are going to be riding the backroads; I would get the Dyna. You can't go wrong! The street bob rocks!

I like to double cross myself!!![sm=icon_sneaky.gif] Fully convince 'yours truly' that I will only EVER need the DYNA!!!! Never be another bike, and then a year or so later get myself a Road King or Electra Glide!!!! Sneaky-Sneaky!!! lol[sm=guilty.gif]

If you see yourself putting a winsdshield on it, saddle bags & touring seat...just go ahead and get the bagger. If you want a full size nimble powerful bike then get the dyna. I don't subscribe to the whole "mini-bagger" thing because I been there and done that. Again just my opinion...

i dont get the whole bagger thing, to me bikes are all about "less is more". My wife has a car so thats the bagger end sorted Buy a motorcycle, buy a Dyna, in fact get the best Dyna out there and buy the Street Bob. But if you cant stand being in the wind and need to have a cup holder then stick with cars

I'd probably say bagger just because of the versatility.
I was thinking the exact opposite, but then maybe versatile means different things to different people. You can comefairly close to bagger comfort with a dressed Dyna that you can strip in a couple of minutes, but you just can't make the bagger lose 100+ lbs. OTOH, if you're happy with the bagger ride to start with, you should probably just get one and be done with it. I'm with the group that could seeadding a bagger to the garage one day, but for how I ride now, the Dyna is the ticket.

Unless you are into long distance touring get the Dyna (St Bob) and save the cash to outfit it the way your needs dictate after riding awhile. I'm 61 and have no clue why people want a heavy long distance bagger unless all they do is ride the inter states. Me, I'm a back roads kinda guy and will always take the scenic, long way around given the choice, with great handling and style being my priorities. When I get old and want a cushy ride, tunes and lots of chrome to polish then I'll park my St Bob and drive my cage!

I have to agree with jackyl as with the dyna you can practically turn it into a bagger in a matter of minutes. I thought for a long time before I boughtthe dynaand wanted a bike that will kick as on the twisties yet could be set up for long range touring--conclusion "DYNA" I also considered a bike that I could put my own personal touches to--again dyna--hands down! It's a keeper for sure!
