Two things come to mind - HD uses the 25s on the CVO bikes. Wouldn't those bikes require a little more fuel? Second, the bulletin instructs HD to upgrade the map in the ECM. There has to be a reason for that. If the amount of fuel flowing was equal, and only the spray pattern changed, the stock map should be sufficient. If have to think that these CVO injectors flow more fuel, otherwise, why change the map?
i just got back from my dealer and the damn sevice manager was there and he kinda gave me the run around he said they would take it up to temp and look at it but the way its going ill probly have to go to another dealer. oh and also i asked about the pc111 and he said they wont install one they dont deal with aftermarket serts because of warrenty issues
I kinda got the same feeling at my stealer i dont know whether to make an isu or try a diffrent stealer allen tx dont seam to like you questing ther god like status they **** me off realy but we will see I plan on geting another dyna soon for my wife depending on how they handel this will determin if i go somewhere els
My Dealer willdo a SERT or a FuelPak, DFO...... Anyhow,
Correct me if I am wrong here, but the bulletin leads me to beleive that there is not a "different" map, but they are going to reload the map to ensure its correct. Same Settings in my way of thinking. Same settings mean the 25 degree injector will spray for the same amount of time as the8 degree injector. So my point is, the whiole question isnot the duration, but the amount and direction of spray. Is it more fuel? Is it same amount of fuel hitting the combustion chamber at a different angle?????? Which ever it is, it has to be delivering the fuel better if it is curring the surging issue. Maybe it doesnt lean or richen, but simply provide better flow of the same amount of fuel.
As I was typing this comes to mind.... if the 25 degree injectors fatten up the mix, would that not be identified by the O2 sensers. and cause the ECM to shorten the duration? This is starting to give me a migrane!
WHat do you think Jamie? I know that going stock AC with theD/L and slip ons fattened up my mixture. She is running good now. But, if Iwanted to put the highflow back on, it would be to lean. and I still dont know how she will run when it gets hot here this summer?????
Maybe the 25° injector has more performance potential for bigger motors (like the 103") but can also be adjusted to work with stock 88's. Possibly there is a remap because the 25° injector needs a shorter duration to deliver the same amount of fuel as the 8°? Either way I'm interested to find out how all this unfolds. Was there an injector change for 88's from `05 to `06? If these are existing parts I'm surprised there isn't more data on the capabilities of the different injectors.
It really does not say there is a "different" download. It says ...
4. Update the ECM calibration. For those motorcycles
equipped with P&A Screaminâ Eagle 1450cc or 1550cc
Performance Kits, refer to h-dnet.com for the correct calibration
P/N.
Does that mean its changed, or they just want to reload to confirm it is correctly set??? Not sure I wanna be first to get these......anyone?????
Exactly, so its not a different MAP. Same timeing, different injectors. Now, if it did fatten the mixture, the O2 sensor would catch it, and the ECM would shorten the spray time right? So I am not sure this will help lean conditions, but I can see where it would help surging issues and cold starts with better flow. Neither problem of which I am having.....hmm Perhaps I should leave well enough alone...
