Default Factory Security... Adding on yourself?

I bought the basic wireless security add on for my '08 Fat Bob... Instructions refer to the service manual and the electrical diagnosis manual...

I have the service manual and it basically just say to plug it in blah blah blah... I don't have the electrical diag which has the set up information.

Has anyone done this installation?? Can you offer me any assistance? Can I follow the directions in the basic owners manual to do the inital setup?

Thanks in advance to anyone who offers information.

You are going to have to take it to the dealer for the security to get armed and set-up...

They are also going to need to do the "Password Learn" for you, as the new HFSM (Hands Free Security Module) is a pain to do manually....

Parts person should have told you that this particular install is not for the DIY'er...

Thanks for the info.

I would have tried to do this myself and prolly ended up frustrated. Parts guy said "intructions are in the box, it's easy".

Just had mine done today. They ordered my bike without it but I said I wanted it, so had them charge me for the bike as if it were on and then they put it on. Took just a bit over half an hour. One shop said if I installed the module myself, they'd to the programming stuff for $45.
