Default Front O2 sensor

Can anyone tell me how to get to the front O2 sensor? Seems it is located in a little plastic box on the frame. Is this true? And if so how the heck do you get it open. Seems to close to the oil filter.

ghost,

Pay close attention during disassembly.

When reassembling, fit everything carefully.

Yes, it's in the little black box up front. There's two tabs that fit into slots. Squeeze the tabs and pull them out of the slots. When you get them out, you'll see that it's really not a box. It's just a flat piece of plastic that is folded three times to make an enclosure. Try getting your bike out into the sunlight or get a flashlight. It's kind of hard to see because it's down so low and everything is black.

The actual 02 sensor is screwed into your exhaust header, the wireing from it is in the black plastic enclosure under the regulator and yes it is close to the filter.Use a strong flashlight and you will see the two tabs that you push on to release the the "box" ,then you can wiggle it down and out from the FRONT of your bike without removing any thing. This will expose the connector for installing the xied's (if thats what you are doing). When finished simply reposition the plastic piece. After you do it onceyou will see how easy it is.Hope this helps.

Hey thanks a lot everyone. I finally found it. I was putting in my PCIII and disconnecting the O2 sensor was the last of it. Man...took me over an hour trying to figure out how to cram all that stuff behind the elctrical panel. Finally got the top 2 bolts to go in but the third one that is inside the electrical box justs bottoms out if I try to put it in...guess I must be tilted in some way. But the bike runs fricken great. Man what a difference. Took off that butt ugly football so she could breathe and added my Mustng solo seat.......Pics to follow.

Kewl.. Glad you found it. Which mustang solo did you get. I also agree that the wiring is a bitch. Its worse for those of us that havve the security system.

Mine also has the security system. The instructions that came with the PCIII said to tie wrap the harness to the front of the electric box. Could not find anywhere to tie wrap it to.It is mashed in the back. I ended up having to velcro the PC differently than in the pic so if I ever have to get to the USB It is going to be a bitch. The only thing I have noticed different is that I seem to be idling about 200 RPM higher than before. I swore my idle used to be 800 and now it is an even 1000.Add some vibration at the stop lights I never noticed before. Is that how your is?

My seat is the Mustang Vintige Solo. Once my daughter gets here with MY camera I am going to change my sig.

Do the "third" bolt inside the box first; it's alignment is critical. Once you have it tight, do the two on top, their alignment isn't as critical. How do I know this? Yesterday, I did the same exact PCIII install on my black lowrider. Weird!!!

And since you did your install have you had any issues with vibration around 2100 RPM? I just made another post about it but noone has responded. When I decel I can feel it in my hands and feet big time. Bring the RPM back up and it clears right up. Guess I didnt notice until later in the day since most of the day was spent at 65 not 25. Everyone is out riding. I never had any vibration in my bike until today. My idle is also up at 1000 RPM where it used to be 800.
