I don't....I have the filter wrench from the stealer and it works pretty well. You should be able to grab a similar one from Wal-Mart or Autozone or somewhere that would work.

Long screw driver and a hammer. Place screw driver against filter, hit with BFH until it goes through the filter, then turn filter lefty loosey.

Never done it on a harley yet, but works ine or everything else. Just make sure you aren't gonna tap the side of the case with the tip of the screw driver.

I think I would spend the $8 for the wrench rather than get out the BFH and risk cracking the engine case or any other object that may get in the way. While you are flailing away watch out for the crank position sensor. It will cost you more than the wrench.

To each their own, but if you can't us the hammer on and around your scoot, you probably shouldn't be working on it. A hammer is a precision tool and besides, the wall on the filter is not very thick. Your call though man, good luck.

I gotta agree...get the wrench...or a wrench that will work.

Oil filterscan be a pain to get off sometimes. I bought a remover from Autozone that works. One trick I do is lossening it while the motor is cool; usually can do with my hands. Have some rags ready, may spill a little oil, then re-tighten, but not too tight. Start motor and let it warm up and change oil. The filter will usually come off easy.
